MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—Partnership Grand Strand (PGS), the economic growth foundation of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (MBACC), is pleased to announce the appointment of Ernest “BJ” Beaver as Workforce Talent Manager.
In an effort to build and strengthen the region’s current and future labor force, Beaver will partner with local employers, Horry County Schools, and higher education institutions to initiate workforce development and career pathway programs. As the workforce talent manager, Beaver reports to PGS Director Peggy Masterson.
“This position is critical to Partnership Grand Strand’s mission. Along with workforce talent recruitment, development and retention; the foundation will focus on business diversification, transportation and infrastructure advocacy, and downtown revitalization through coordination with the Myrtle Beach Downtown Alliance,” Masterson said.
Beaver comes to PGS via Miller-Motte College in Conway, S.C., where he has worked for the past 10 years and most recently served as the manager of academics and career services. He also serves on the board of directors for A Father’s Place, a family development organization serving Horry and Georgetown counties.
“I’m excited to bring my skills to serve the Partnership Grand Strand foundation to not only strengthen our regional workforce, but inevitably build stronger families and communities through employment opportunities,” Beaver said.
